We are happy to announce that our first panel Governance in the City After A Decade of Protest, will take place in the Patrick Ma Digital Scholarship Lab.

Launched in October 2012 and housed in the John D. Rockerfeller, Jr. Library at Brown, the DSL features a 7 by 16 foot LED screen that contains over 24 million pixels. The room is also equipped with two portable touch enabled 50 inch monitors, and has full video conferencing capabilities.

With the DSL, we will be able to bring in discussants from Hong Kong, as the panel will occur on their Saturday night, at 9:30 pm. This will be an experiment in allowing the subjects of academic research to respond to what is said about them. Hopefully, this will make for an even more interesting dialogue.
